This session provides a rare and unique opportunity to hear the answers to these and other questions from top authorities within the Federal Reserve Bank. This session will review the latest in terms of key economic indicators, trends, and anecdotal stories and project their likely impact on employers for the remainder of 2009 and beyond.

In today’s tough economic environment, self insurance can represent an effective way to save money and focus internal attention on reducing risk. While the commercial insurance industry has been a solid and enduring industry, even the biggest and most stable carriers are struggling. The keys to success in both commercial insurance and self insurance remain the same; sound underwriting / reserving, effective claims management, and exceptional loss control. For years the most advanced and sophisticated companies across many industries have used predictive analytics as a competitive advantage. Understanding the risk that are covered, pricing / reserving for them appropriately, and implementing broad corporate counter-measures are critical in maintaining a competitive and sustainable cost structure. The focus has shifted toward survival and attention is actually predicting potential losses. The “pot of gold” is implementing countermeasures to prevent the loss from ever occurring. Case studies that demonstrate how the application of predictive analytics can make you more competitive (and sustainable) will be presented. Speakers:
