Self-Insurance PAC
In a move designed to strengthen the association’s influence in Washington, DC, the Self-Insurance Institute of America, Inc. (SIIA) today announced that it has formed a political action committee (PAC), known as Self-Insurance PAC.
The purpose of the SIIA-sponsored PAC is to channel financial contributions to the political campaigns of members of Congress who support the self-insurance/alternative risk transfer industry.
“Given the significant size and importance of the self-insurance/ART industry, our elected leadership felt it was important to take this initiative to be more directly involved in the political process just as the traditional insurance industry and other leading interest groups do,” said SIIA Chief Operating Officer Mike Ferguson. “We believe that this involvement will complement our lobbying efforts, which have increased significantly over the past few years.”
The Self-Insurance PAC can only accept personal contributions. Corporation contributions are prohibited by law.
