Breaking News – Health Care Reform Rules Affecting Self-Insurance Industry
March 19, 2012 – Late on Friday, federal regulators announced two developments of specific interest to self-insured health plans and third party administrators.
First, the Department of Health and Human Services has released its final rule dealing with the establishment of a transitional reinsurance program as required by the Affordable Care Act. As reported previously, self-insured employers will be required to pay fees to fund this program.
