With the emergence of COVID, several states have passed laws and regulations that place a presumption on employers and insurers to prove that an employee’s COVID infection was not related to workplace interaction. In addition, a number of states have extended workers' comp coverage to first responders and health care workers. This chart outlines state requirements related to this COVID workers ‘comp presumption.
