June 1, 2012 -- The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) Self-Insurance (B) Subgroup will consider a formal recommendation next Wednesday that its stop-loss model act be updated so that minimum specific attachment points are raised to $60,000 and that the minimum aggregate attachment point be hiked to 130% of expected claims.
The recommendations are based on an actuarial report issued last week by Milliman. A copy of this report can be accessed through the Members’ Only section of the SIIA web site by clicking here.
This is developing story and SIIA intends to provide its next report immediately after Wednesday’s meeting.
