SIIA Releases Updated Members-Only Resources: State Policy, COVID Workers Comp and Stop-Loss Updates

The Self-Insurance Institute of America, Inc. (SIIA) released today a number of members-only resources to assist with ongoing compliance, regulatory and legislative activities within the self-insurance space. These new and updated resources include:

SIIA State Stop-Loss Policy Chart

This chart contains a state-by-state summary of stop-loss regulations and laws. This wide-ranging stop-loss resource includes information on allowed state group size, aggregate and specific stop-loss restrictions, guaranteed issues, and other stop-loss disclosure requirements. 

Price Transparency Resource Center

This online resource library includes information related to federal price transparency activities, from the Transparency in Coverage Rules to the No Surprise Act. In addition to federal regulations, the Center provides access to SIIA comments, summaries and in-depth analysis, recent presentations, and other helpful compliance information. 

SIIA State COVID Workers’ Compensation Presumption Chart 

With the emergence of COVID, several states have passed laws and regulations that place a presumption on employers and insurers to prove that an employee’s COVID infection was not related to workplace interaction. In addition, a number of states have extended workers' comp coverage to first responders and health care workers. This chart outlines state requirements related to this COVID workers ‘comp presumption. 

SIIA 2022 State Legislative Tracker 

SIIA’s government relations team, working in conjunction with SIIA State Policy Task Force members, continually tracks and updates state laws and regulations impacting the self-insured industry. The legislative tracker is updated consistently to reflect new and changing legislative/ regulatory activities and proposals.
